The Ickies began in 1991 as a one-person project in a Cochecton, NY bedroom, founded by a multi-instrumentalist with a taste for the unpredictable. After relocating to Binghamton in 1996, the band evolved into a shape-shifting collective known for its eclectic catalog—ranging from sparse folk to abrasive industrial to sharp-edged satire. Despite their DIY ethos, The Ickies have earned radio airplay as far afield as Louisiana and Olympia, Washington. Their latest album, Winter Songs, was released on January 6, 2025.
